Migraine

Well, tomorrow is the big day!! I'm looking forward to seeing Dr. K in the morning - mixture of excitement, nerves, hope, and other unnamed feelings!!

Thanks to all who told me about La Quinta - it's great!

Had a great flight with only mild headache - actually went to see a movie for the first time in months this afternoon!! (Julia and Julie - it's great!)

I want to see Julie and Julia. So do my mom and my grandma. I'm hoping now that school is starting and things get a little more settled we can go see it soon. I just finished the book a week or so ago, because I wanted to read it first.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! There's a little house/office in Dallas that carries with it the scent of hope! Dr. Krusz, his wonderful nurse Jane, Stephanie, Ann, Virginia
ooze knowledge, empathy, caring, genuineness, determination, creativity. . . Did I mention intuitive, brilliant, compassionate, down to earth????

From day one, I've known that there was no miracle cure, but they were absolutely committed to doing whatever it takes to help me have a better quality of life. There have been several times when I have sat in the chair getting an iv with tears on my face because of these wonderful people and what they are offering me.

They haven't just fallen back on "their way of doing it" but have adapted things as my body reacts or doesn't react. I also love that they are quick to explain the phenomena behind each reaction or process. It helps me not to feel quite so out of control. Neither do they assume anything!

They've kept me until 7:30 or 8 to make sure I was ready to go home for the nite; kept me in ice water, and made sure that a now favorite quilt is close by.

If I weren't 50 and firmly entrenched in Memphis with my friends and family, I'd be moving to Dallas next week!

Honestly, I still have a migraine and have had a really bad one for the last two days. But for the first time in a year, I was at a level one for about two hours and had no nausea or eye pain(on maybe Thursday)! DANCE OF JOY!! If it can happen once, surely it can happen again!!!

Thank you to all of you who suggested this visit! Teri, I got your message - thanks. Now - message to self - remember that this is a process - a day at a time - sometimes moving forward, sometimes moving back, never giving up or giving in.

I'm SO happy to hear this news! I'm so glad that you went down there, and that it turned out to be so successful. I too have been kept that late, with meds running into my arms, and feeling relief start to creep over my body.

I agree with Laura, the hope in your post and excitement is contagious! As is my feeling for that place- it's something out of a fantasy dream with the wonderful staff and of course Dr. K, and all the little things that make that place magical.

I'm so glad that you went... and I've said the same thing- if I wasn't so set here in NC, I'd be moving my Migrainey head down into Dallas!

SOOOOOO Happy for you!!! I knew it would be a good visit but was really thrilled reading your post!! So much so that I picked up the phone and called and Jane is supposed to call me back. I cannot get in to see Dr.K till after Sept. 15th but that's ok. It's a step in the right direction and I feel better that I have made a decision.

I will be praying for you for continued success!!! Too bad you weren't here this week as the weather changed and it is so much cooler!!!
