Had a 12:30 appt. with my PCP to go over bloodwork results today. Was called back @ 1:15. Left the exam room @ 2:00. Had seen neither hide nor hair of Dr. B.
Left him a note on the note listing all my meds & my concerns for today. Asked him to please mail my bloodwork results to me. Told him I had other things to do, & couldn't wait any longer. Was under CFLs and tube fluorescent lights the whole time, with nothing to drink, & no food since about 10:30. Just made it to lunch (a BBQ sandwich & a real cherry Coke) & my eye doc appt @ 3. Eye doc was prompt, as usual. Will be visiting Zenni Optical webpage to look at frames, as Dr. Tom's office doesn't have any frames in stock that I like. Would really like new glasses in time for Edisto Beach! Oh, will send letter to Dr. B. explaining what went wrong today. Had to do this 17 years ago, & he straightened his office staff out. I normally wait 20 min. or less in the waiting room, & 20 or less in the exam room. Cheers to all, Rebecca |

Good for you for walking out. Your time is just as important as his time. I'm proud of you! Do let us know what response you get from your letter, ok?

Wow, that's just ridiculous! Good for you for going on for the rest of your day. You were much, much more patient than I would have been. You waited for ages.
I hope they get whatever the problem is straightened out in their office. I know Mondays are busy, but come on! If you paid a co-pay - I would make sure you get it back! You should not have to pay for a visit you didn't have because your doctor was running so far behind.
I mean really! Oh and also - I'd make your insurance company aware too so that this office doesn't try and file a claim for an appointment you never had. That would be insurance fraud. Dang! The only appointments I ever had to wait a while for were my neuro ones, when he was in the other building with four other docs. But they were polite and would come tell me if he was running late and the reason and make sure I could wait, how many appointments he was behind, and approximately how long the wait might be. Usually it was something beyond his control, such as the one time they had a deposition taken at the office that lasted most of the day.
Without any kind of input from the staff, I think I'd have left, too. I'm with Eileen, too. If you paid a co-pay, write a letter or whatever you have to do to get it back. Dragondrool Forum Moderator ~~8=:>>>> |
