Thanks for all of the kind notes all week as Sarah has been seeing Dr. Krusz in Dallas.
For the first time in almost 2 years, we have answers. He was right on with his thoughts and her headache is down from an 8 to a 4. He discovered that her thyroid was off, she was low in magnesium and low in Vitamin D. Wow!!!!!! Two years and nobody else could figure that out. Sarah is already adjusting well to many of her new meds and yes Teri, Zanaflex is one of them. If you are struggling, please call him. We have seen many good doctors and this man is a gem and he treated my daugher with such respect and he really listened to her. Also, Mrs. Jane, the nurse, is one of a kind. Everyone made sure that Sarah knew she was part of the team and her feelings really counted. Wow!!!! I just cannot tell you how excited I am to finally have answers and I also feel like we know better what to expect over the next few months. I am now headed off to a good nights sleep and we will check out of the hotel and head home tomorrow. By the way, I hope to stay on board with the posts and I hope I can be as encouraging to other people as they have been to me. Melanie lovemykids411 |

Sandi-Dr. Krusz prescribed it to help me sleep at night. I take a low dose three or four times during the day (depending on how I'm feeling) to keep it in my system and then a larger dose right before bedtime. I have the option during the day to take an extra dose or two if I'm starting to migraine and it helps keep me relaxed.
It has made a big difference in how I sleep at night. I dream and I haven't done that in years. Even if I wake up, I can take another dose and I fall right back to sleep. Since I'm getting a better quality of sleep I get less severe migraines. It has had a huge impact on the "type" of migraines I get too. Since I started taking it in January, my migraines aren't as severe or last as long as they used to. It has been a true blessing for me.

Yes, the Zanaflex relaxes her and helps her sleep. Sleep then helps the headache.
It seems to really be helping. Melanie lovemykids411 |

Ahhhhhhhhhh...ok. That makes sense, because Zanaflex makes me REALLY out of it.
I take Soma, once in a while, to help relax me enough to go to sleep. I used to take Ambien, but I began to rely upon it so much that I decided to stop taking it. Boy... was THAT hard to get off of. Anyway, I'm so glad to hear that a young one is getting relief. It's SO hard to watch anyone we love suffer. But when it's our children, it's the hardest thing to do. Blessings, Sandi |

Sandi, if my husband takes Soma and Vicodin together - he always has a headache the next day... he has bad neck problems, so that's why he has prescriptions for those...
