Hi guys! I have had my fill of drs in GA, so I am going to start looking elsewhere. My daughter is moving with the Army to Fort Campbell in January. The base is on the Tenn/KY line. So, I was thinking if I could find one close to her, I could combine my dr visits with visits to her, and have a free place to stay - not to mention a great excuse to see my grand-daughter - lol! Thanks in advance for any information!

Our patient-recommended doctor list doesn't have any listings for Kentucky, but it's got three listed for Tennessee, which you can find Right Here.

Thanks, honie! I will look at those, but would really love to hear if anyone has any personal experience with any of them!

Sherry,

Just FYI... Doctors on that list are there because they have been recommended to us by patients.

Sherry,
I live in middle TN and have never seen any of the Doctors on the patient recommended list. I tried to get some feedback here on this forum about Dr. Brandes in Nashville, but no one responded back that they had seen her. I asked another Dr. I go to about her and he said that she has a very long waiting list to get an appointment. I think one of the doctors on the list is in Clarksville, which is where Fort Campbell is located, I think. That one might be worth checking into. I am currently seeing a neurologist that is not on the list and I have only seen her one time, so I'm still "trying her out".

Hi there! I am not sure how you would feel about traveling if you can't find a doc close to where your daughter is, but I thought I might make a few suggestions.

I know that many of the members here talk about the Jefferson clinic and that they are wonderful. But I have never been to that one. I did go to one in Ann Arbor, Michigan for a few years. My doc wasn't the greatest, but they have several docs in the clinic and I know they have a lot of success there. Its the Michigan Headpain and Neurological Institute. Its a nice place.

I now go to the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago, Illinios. Like the one in Michigan, they have several docs at the clinic. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my doc there and will not change to another. He really works hard and is so kind and caring about my situation. I know the clinic is very successful and its a nice place, also. I hear that most of the docs there are great.

But one thing I should probably mention. You will probably want to pick a place based on a doc that you would be comfortable with rather than just the idea of the clinic its self. Good luck! and let us know what you find Flower

Thanks guys. I think I have heard someone on here say they saw Dr. Brandes a long time ago, and they liked her a lot, I just can't remember who it was? I'm just doing research right now. I am going to wait until the first of next year to switch doctors because I have my SSDI hearing in December. Plus, January is when my daughter is moving up there.

Peggyann, I will check out the one in Clarksville, that is where Fort Campbell is, or right there close to it.

Alaura, at this point in time, traveling that far is not an option for me - mainly due to financial reasons. But as I stated above, I have my SSDI hearing in Dec, and if I get approved, my financial situation will also improve, which is part of why I am starting to look out of state - we may actually be able to afford for me to do it then. I would love to go to one of the large clinics, because I am not getting anywhere with the docs I have seen here in Ga, and I have seen several!!

Thanks again! You guys are the best!

Hey! I just wanted to tell you guys that I looked up information on Dr. Constance J. Johnson, M.D. in Clarksville and found the website for her clinic, and it looks good from what I can see. She has 20 years experience and has a Subspecialty certification in Headache Medicine. All the doctors I have seen over the years have been neurologists, but not headache specialists, because I could never find one around here! So, I am probably going to try to get an appointment there for January or February. Part of it depends on how my SSDI hearing goes. I would still like to hear from anyone that has seen her as a patient, or either of the other 2 listed for Tenn.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
