My neuro referred me on 4/3 and faxed my records over there that same day. I got a call back from the new specialist's office on 4/7 asking for my records from my fired specialist, which were faxed over either on 4/7 or 4/8. They said to give it a few days from then for the doc to review it, so, it's now been a week. Realistically I'm overdue for a call by 2-3 days at most so I'm cutting them some slack, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to keep calling them until they schedule me.

Well... I just got a call back from the scheduler. I'm set up for an appointment on May 21. That's the first one they had. They don't have a cancellation list - I'm welcome to call in to check but he doesn't usually have very many cancellations.

Ugh, I know this isn't that long to wait all things considered but I don't know how I'm going to make it until then. Frowner

Thanks for the hugs, Valerie. I know this isn't the end of the world, and I know it could have been a lot longer that I have to wait. It's just so hard when we're in pain, you know? I'm trying to be positive about this. I do feel better to finally have something scheduled. I'm just really not sure what to do in the meantime - it's feeling pretty impossible to face another 5 weeks of this. Ugh.

I do plan on calling in frequently to check to see if there are any cancellations, but I don't want to get my hopes up.

Yes, I'm trying one of the WA specialists on the list from this site. I'm very fortunate that he is in network for me and close to home, so I'm hoping he works out.

Normally I wouldn't mind the wait (too much), it's just my total lack of coping skills this week. But that's what I have you guys for, right? Heart

MJ I know you've heard it before. But you only have to get through 1 day at a time. There's no such thing as 5 weeks. There's only today. What will get you through today? If today is too long - the next 1/2 hour.

Hang in there MJ--

Like Megs says, 1/2 hour at a time. Remember if it gets too bad, you still have Urgent Care or ER (not that that's much consolation, but a bit of relief is sometimes enuf to get you thru another day or two). I'll keep you in my prayers. My mother has started to ask every day who I want for her to add to her list, so she'll be adding you too.

Megs and Tracie, you both are so right. Just a little bit at a time. I know this. Sometimes it's just one breath at a time when it's bad (like today). I just needed to post here and freak out a little bit I think. I'm feeling a little better. Still overwhelmed but slowly gaining a little control over the situation - or, at least, my feelings about things.

Tracie, thanks to both you and your mom for keeping me in your prayers. That means a lot to me.

I can do this - I keep telling myself that. I can do this with the support of everyone here and DBF and my family back east. Just one teeny tiny baby step at a time. Yes
