I continue to be very very happy with my Berkeley doctor. She has a purple streak in her salt and pepper hair. Gives her a certain unique personality I think.

She walked into the room today, stopped, and said "You look alot better today". She saw me 5 weeks ago. I've only been her patient since November. I really must have looked awful last time.

So nothing is being changed. I'm to continue on Depokote ER 250 mg at night. I've had an increase in migraines the last 2 weeks I've had this cold. But she feels it could just be from the cold. We talked about the last migraine (yesterday and today) and the more we talked she really felt it would be best leaving everything as it is. Get rid of the cold, which she said unfortunately is hanging on forever, and see how the Depokote does.

I had my diary, she was pleased to see that. Asked me to keep it up until I see her again. I'll go back in 2 months unless there is some type of extreme change that warrants coming in sooner.

Take care,

Cindy

Glad to hear your doc is a keeper. That really does make all the difference. Now you just need to kick that cold so the depakote can go back to doing its job.

Maybe we can get that replicator working so you can have some of Deb's chicken soup. Thumbs Up

Cindy,

Sounds like a great visit! I'm glad she's giving your preventative more time to work. (I love her hair, sounds cool!)

Great news, Cindy! Sometimes it's refreshing to sit back and let a med really get settled in before changing things. I'm seeing my specialist every 2 months, too, so that must be fairly common.

Hi Cindy,

MJ was telling me about your doctor and directed me to this thread... I couldn't find any female or Berkley doctors on the list of recommended specialists... do you mind me asking the name of your doctor... and exactly *how* happy you are with her? I have to admit, I'm probably as high maintenance as it gets! I also don't know if I should really be looking at Berkley, there are specialists closer to me, but I was looking at seeing a doctor at UCMDC, just for a one time visit, so it had me thinking it might be worth it to force myself into seeing someone new.

Candance,
She is not on the list for our forums as she is not considered a migraine or headache specialist. Her practice also includes seizure and MS patients.

Joanna Cooper is a neulogist in Berkeley on Telegraph Avenue. I have been very happy. She listens. Where are you located?
