I have a number of chronic things going on with me. I'm working on disability.

Amongst the Mount Vesuvius of paperwork that has erupted over this process, Dr.Breathtakingly Arrogant has put in his two cent's worth.

Well lo and behold! My cluster headaches are accompanied by 'migrainous headache pain'. Reminded me of our UK forum member whose doctor insisted that her attacks had to reach a certain intensity before he would label them 'migraines'--he called them all 'migrainous headaches' first.

"Migrainous headache first and then the migraine..."

I've GOT to get that sketch going.

Just thought I'd share... Group Hug

So----

I wonder then if our "brilliant" physicians have worked out that migraines are migrainous. Maybe it would be good if they took another English class about suffixes!

Jeez--

I hope that Dr Breathtakingly Arrogant's information will be helpful with your disability application. What a jerk.

Chuckle!

MW I hope this major semantic concession on Dr. BA's part at least gets you somewhere!

Thanks everybody! Group Hug I haven't stopped giggling yet.

Anyone who has dealt with disability claims knows how tedious and time-consuming it is. I have both the US federal government Office of Personnel Management and the Social Security Administration to deal with.

I haven't had the ability to do it. My fixing-to-be-21-year-old daughter has done it all. She's gotten a real lesson on how bureaucracy works and how the US medical system works, and my situation isn't even complicated by medical malpractice or things of that nature.

She was glancing over Dr. Breathtakingly Arrogant's clinic notes and noticed his terminology. As soon as she asked me the difference between 'migrainous headaches' and 'migraines', I collapsed in laughter and promptly had a vertigo attack.

Oh me. Now to get started on that sketch... Devil

Yes it is very funny and also I agree with the Dr Breathtakingly arrogrant being a good name to name this arrogant doctor. My last GP advised that wouldn't treat my migraines because they were "headaches" (and felt I was exaggerating) to which I said what ever they are they impac on my work and life and both are treatable so treat please (of course I know that looking at guidelines treatment options can vary but there are many meds that treat both).
My first neuro said they were "atypical migraines" in that they are a cross between migraines and tension headaches (probably similar to common migraine rather than classical migraine) and was interested in treating them.
Maybe that GP would have responded better to calling them migrainous headaches. I tend to now say migraines and headaches.
