I just found out this morning that my grandma is in the hospital. My aunt called me before 7:00 this morning to let me know. My mom was already at work. My grandma has congestive heart failure. She's had this for several years.

Last night she got up and told my aunt that she wasn't feeling well. She was wheezing and coughing a lot. My aunt took her blood pressure and it was sky-high. They decided to call the ambulance then.

My aunt said that my grandma had a very terrified look in her eyes. This breaks my heart to think about her being so scared. They originally thought she had pneumonia. They did x-rays and saw that she had a lot of fluid built up around her heart.

It's so hard being so far away. She lives in Kansas City and I'm down here in Texas. I had to call my mom, sister and brothers to let them know. I'm trying to stay positive and I keep praying for the comfort of my grandmother. I'm now asking for everyone else to also pray for her.

Update on my grandma:

My grandma was suppose to get out of the hospital on Saturday but she is still there. The fluid keeps building up around her heart. The doctors want to open heart surgery to fix a leaky valve. It's the size a nickel but it's suppose to be the size of a quarter.

The good news is the doctors say her heart is strong. I'm waiting on an update from my aunt. That's all the news I have. Thanks for all the prayers and encouragement.

Good News! My grandma is home and they don't think she will need surgery at this time. She is still recovering and very tired. They have a nurse visiting her daily to check vitals, etc. My aunt is also there to make sure she is OK.
