I need help.

I've gotten a certified letter from work asking for specific things from doctors. I've tried to get these things for the past four months, but I've failed. I've gotten letters from these docs but they haven't had what my employer has been looking for.

I've read the first paragraph of this letter, but I'm afraid to read the rest. It has blank medical release forms and blank disability forms included.

Between fibromyalgia, Meniere's disease (vestibular disorders are notorious for causing cognitive dysfunction) thyroid disease, and migraine with aura, my clear minutes are so few and far between that even when I can catch them, I can't hold them for more than a few minutes. They float by at strange times too (like 11:14PM when no doctor's office is open). I spend most of my life very foggy or rather translucent.

Please pray that my college sophomore (who has volunteered to help me solve this--she never has foggy times) sees exactly what God wants her to do to get this done and over with.

I spend many, many hours here at my house, just me and God. Meniere's dizziness and vertigo plus migraine have just about put an end to life outside my house. They have put an end to one chapter, but begun another.

Please pray, my own friends. Thank you so very much. Frowner

Sounds like your employer wants a response from specialists who treat the diseases you mentioned.

Are you seeing a different specialist for each condition?

Good luck to ya!

"Migraines are caused by fears about sex. Once I got me a good sex partner and started gettin laid regular I quit having headaches."....some idiot

Yes, of course I'll pray that you'll be able to get this sorted out asap!! So sorry that you have to deal with this extra stress now - but hopefully this will get worked out soon.

Feel better, Liz

Special prayers being said!

Mild scold. You really need to read that letter all the way through. Even if you have help, You've got to know what's going on.

I went through the same kind of thing when I had to withdraw from my law firm. They were real turkeys about it. Wouldn't take a letter from my doc as proof that I was disabled. Required me to give them my records, then the guy that I thought was a good friend copied them 10 times and gave a copy to each of the partners. I was very angry and quite embarassed. Of course, once they saw what I was going through, they backed off a little. But not nearly enough. Turkeys! I'd love to call them something else, but this is a family-friendly forum.

Pull out your sword and begin to fight!

Thanks so much, everybody. I've had a better day today.

The letter gave me a deadline date for response which had passed before I even received the letter--that's just like something my ol' Uncle would do. Frowner

My daughter has already contacted one doc this morning and will leave messages for the other three this evening when she gets home from work. I stand in awe of her organizational ability. I used to be like that!

Again, I owe so much to everyone for their love and prayers. I don't often post on this particular board, but I do read it and pray. God does love us so much. What a Father we have Who has given us a way to help each other from afar. Smiler

I feel for you and will pray. I know firsthand how hard it can be to focus and think straight when you're dizzy. Just take your time.

I understand completely. I also have fibromyalgia and migraines. I can leave the house on good days, but I can't travel or work or do anything tiring. I pray for you as I pray for me, for willingness, acceptance, and having a day we like!

Also, I have successfully negotiated the disability paperwork maze, with the help of my husband's awesome energy and organizational skills. I now receive Social Security Disability and qualify for Medicare. I also received one letter with a deadline that had already passed!! It would be funny if the stakes weren't so high. They do it to save money, knowing that many people entitled to help will give up and go away. So hang in there and make the system work. The more of us that do it, the better it is for everyone.

(I'm 55, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.)
