Cyn,
Hope you don't mind that I posted this. I saw your post to Teri & Nancy about your depression, when I was asking Teri a question about the Diamox. I am so sorry to hear you are having the horrible depression!!! I empathize with you! I suffer from depression myself and know how debilitating it can be. I was having it really bad on the Topamax. It got better with the Zonegran but then got worse again because of the bad weather here in Dallas. Since Dr.K put me on Savella, for my fibromyalgia, it has really helped the depression too. But we talked about going on Welbutrin also at my last visit. I hear ya on the side effects of all these drugs. I hate taking all these drugs but at the same time, having migraines is no fun or a choice either. Dr.K had given me a list of sources for info-did he give you that? one site is www.pubmed.com-He said it was a good place to look up drugs and side effects. I will be praying that you will get some relief from your pain and some wisdom as to what medication will be right for you. Take care and next time I hear from you, I pray it will be good news. Pam |

Ahhhh, Pam!
Thank you so much for your sweet note and prayers!!! It just meant the world to me to read your note. I hate feeling depressed but I know that my feelings can't take me anywhere that God won't also go with me! I made myself get up and go to church this morning, although the bed was so inviting, and it was just so good to spend time singing and visiting with friends there. I didn't get a list from Dr K and will check out the pub-med. My psychologist told me that he has seen a lot of success with people adding a low dose of abilify to help with break through depression. I also have fibro but don't take anything for that - I think I'll look up the Savella. He's been so great about working with me via phone, but I think that if things aren't better around Christmas time that I might head back to Texas just to be able to talk with him face to face. We'll see. I hope you are doing well!! and that you're getting relief from the barometric pressure changes. I was speaking with my grandmother who lives in San Antonio and she was saying how wonderful it was to get rain and I told her that I knew they needed it but that she needed to pray for all the folks with migraines, fibro and arthritis who went into a tailspin when the weather changes! Hugs to you!! Cyn "Life is too short, forgive quickly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, play with children, and never regret anything that made you smile. Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here, we should dance! " |

Cyn,
Glad to hear you got out this am. It does make you feel better once you get out. I think adding something for your depression is a great idea. I don't know anything about abilify but I would check it out if I was you. From all my reading about migraines, it seems like depression is part of the package. So, any help is a plus. The Savella has been good for depression and fibromyalgia, but it does have it's side effects. I think I am going to have to cut back on the dosage. Yeah, we're getting more bad storms again tonight. We don't need anymore rain. I wish I could send it off to somewhere it was needed more. I just want to crawl in a closet when the weather gets like this! Take care and know that many are praying for you here on this forum!! It will get better...hang in there!! Pam |
