As I said in the tea room, I went to a service this afternoon intended to help people with recent deaths in the family to deal with the joy and grief that this time of year brings. There was a piece of poetry on the front of the service leaflet that I wanted to share. I think its usefulness goes way beyond grief/bereavement.

You can see the poem here:

The Spirit Is Breathing

Beautiful!

This time of year is still hard for me at times because my first husband died on Christmas night and although it's been twelve years (where did the time go?), it seems like yesterday and a 100 years ago.

Thank you, Nut!

Beautiful, like Laura said.

This will be our first Christmas without my father, who died in May.

I cried all night last night, and I mean all through the wee hours. Haven't been to bed yet. My brother who is certain that all migraineurs could be cured by psychiatrists, and his wife and children, will be here after while. I, however, will be asleep. One daughter will be working and the other will be at her DBF's brother's birthday party. They'll visit with my mother. I don't have the energy for their negativity.

Sorry it has to be like this, but not too sorry.

The hospice sent us literature suggesting that everyone develop new traditions. Mine is to celebrate with my daughters, and not negative people.

basilar-type migraine, MAV, BPPV, migraine with and without aura, cluster headaches, but no tension headaches! W00t! Smiler
