Thanks again, everyone, so much for all of your thoughts and prayers! DBF is fine. The doctor found some minor abnormalities (I've already forgotten the name, I'll have to check later), but he just recommended DBF eat a high-fiber diet.

We're both very relieved it isn't anything serious, and isn't likely to turn into a larger problem down the road. DBF is sleeping off the remainder of the sedative but is feeling fine. Especially now that he can eat again. Smiler Poor thing had quite a time with the prep drink he had to drink last night.

Thanks again, everyone! It helped us both so much knowing all of you are here rooting for us! Heart

I finally remembered to look up the name - diverticulosis - basically small pouches in the colon.

Eileen, I LOVE Kashi anything. Unfortunately it's no longer in my diet since I've cut out wheat/gluten. You are right though - the Kashi helped me a lot with the constipation I get from nortriptyline.

Kelly, DBF is indeed back up to speed. He's playing with our kitten as I type this. He slept a few hours yesterday afternoon after he got home, and woke up feeling almost back to normal. By this morning he was back to normal. It's great not to have to worry about this anymore!

Thanks again, everyone!! Heart

Oh, MJ!

My DH has diverticulitis, too. No more seeds or nuts for him. No "crunchy" - undercooked - rice. Nothing hard and small that could trigger a flareup.

I've been de-seeding tomatoes, cucumbers and squash for him for a while now. Oh, and when I make Chili Con Queso, I deseed the jalapenos, too. I even de-seeded eggplants to make eggplant parm last fall! I'll never do THAT again Skillet , nor will I ever deseed okra for him.

Y'all will manage this Beastie, too! Good Luck

Rebecca
