hey guys-

as some of you may have seen on the weather, there were some strong storms that hit the northeast region. I was in a part of CT that was hit particularly hard. homes were flooded and the integrity of a couple of local damns were in question. they had to let the water go which washed away the pavement in roads forcing them to be shut down. the amount of damage is still being calculated. we were forced to set up an emergency shelter for people forced to leave their home due to intense flooding.

please pray for my town/region as people return home and we begin to recover from this storm. it is going to be a long expensive process not just for the entire town but for the individual families as they assess the damage in their homes.

Thanks.
Best.

Oh Kate are you OK? Is your home alright? You sound as if you are helping in the shelters.

Please be safe yourself. I have been so wrapped up in working on my home I've not had the news on so I was not aware of any this.

My hopes and prayers to you all.

Cindy

sorry didn't mean to post this twice.. my computer was being funky...

yes i am ok thanks for asking.. we are lucky and we live on a hill. i was in class when this storm hit just north of here. my road got flooded and shut down and my driveway got washed away but other than that my family is safe thank god. i drove around the town today doing some errands. there are still some flooding of roads. people have returned to their houses and are starting to pump out. we are hoping not to get hit with rain again, although the weather forecast isn't looking too promising.

Oh, Kate! Group Hug Group Hug Group Hug Group Hug

I'm remembering life after Hurricane Hugo, so I understand what y'all are going through. Fingers Crossed for the damage to not be too bad and for everybody to recover and rebuild quickly.

Rebecca, The Island Mama

PS. Please send some of that rain down here. My freshly-planted lavenders could use it.

hey guys-

town totally getting hit pretty hard this afternoon which is really not what we need, in fact it is the exact opposite of what we need as we are still trying to calculated the amount of damage from the last storm. mom and me are hoping that the rain stops soon. going out to check the pipe, but it looks like our driveway will stay intact this time round. keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't rain until midnight as predicted!

best.
