Migraine

Hi Everyone,

My brother in law, Gary, just found out he has bladder cancer two weeks ago. He is going into surgery today to take our 7 masses in his bladder. Then we will know what stage the cancer is in and if it is malignent or beign (sp). If it is caught in the right stage it is very curable. So, we could really use some prayers and angels flying here in California right now and I know you are the ones who can send them. Thanks. DH and I are leaving for the hospital right now to be with my sister and I will check in later. Hugs to you all

My DH's aunt had bladder cancer in her 70s. I don't know what stage it was, but she was cancer-free for the 20 more years she lived.

I know you'll be a great comfort.

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts and prayers. Just knowing that you ladies are here for me means so much. I was telling my sister yesterday about you all and she said to let you know that it was a great comfort to her too that so many people where sending good thoughts for Gary. And Gretchen I plan on telling my sister about your Aunt, that too will be a great comfort. Well, the surgery went well, but it looks like the cancer might be more aggressive then the doctor first thought. They are thinking it might be invasive cancer in the lining. We won't know until oncology looks at the pictures and pathology looks at the size of the mass (thurs). It seems to be all on the left side. Still, worse case senerio is that they will have to take out his bladder. I know that sound bad, but he will live. So, he and my sister are in good spirits. Thank you again. You all are so amazing to me

What's kind of unreal is that you don't hear much about bladder cancer, and yet this is the third time I've heard of someone diagnosed with it in the last month. One person goes to our church, one is your BIL, and I forget the other.

We'll keep prayers and hugs coming. Share some hugs with your sister, too.

Just an update - My BIL does not have to have his bladder removed. Yeah! It is stage 2 cancer. It is in his lining, but not in the muscle. They are going to give him Chemo rinse treatments once a week for six weeks and re-check.

Droolie-I will make sure I share nicely with my sister
