Migraine

I have a friend who is going through a very hard time. She has cancer. She is telling everyone that they need to let her go.

She just started another chemo treatment a week or so ago and her next one is next week. This is a new chemo for her type of cancer.

If y'all would be so kind as to send my friend Linda some positive vibes, or happy thoughts or whatever you want to call it, I would greatly appriciate it.

I just feel so bad that this is happening to her. She is only 36 years old. That is too young to have to fight so hard to live.

You've probably seen it before but I love this poem - it meant a lot to me when my mom had cancer:

Cancer is so limited---
It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot destroy peace
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot suppress memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot steal eternal life
It cannot conquer the spirit.

Linda is "tucked up my sleeve" right now so I'll remember to "storm Heaven" for her (and you.)

Please tell her for me that she'll be braver than she wants to be through all this, simply because she is well loved, even by people who may never meet her (us.) I can't take away her pain, but I can hope she'll heal.

I can, and will, picture her healthy and whole, five years from now. She'll be walking the Survivors' Lap at the Relays for Life for many, many years. She will tell her grandchildren her story.

Rebecca - Thank you for your kind words and inspiration. Linda's next appointment for chemo is next week. I will keep you all posted and let you know how she is. I will also let her know how much support she has, which is a bunch more than I'm sure she will ever know.

I just got word that Linda has passed. I don't know the details yet, but I thought I would let you all know.
