I ended up at the ER on Saturday morning because of severe stomach pains. The doctors believe that my gallbladder isn't functioning properly. I finally got over a 2 1/2 week migraine cycle and now this. I saw my GP doctor yesterday for a follow-up and she believes from all my symptoms and the tests that they ran at the ER that it is my gallbladder, too.
She is sending me to a surgeon to let him/her decide on whether or not I need to have more tests run or just have my gallbladder taken out. I'm still having pains but not as bad as they were on Saturday. I think partly because of the medicine they precribed. I'm here asking for your prayers that I can get some relief for this pain. I can't remember the last time that I have felt good; without any pain. I know that God doesn't give us anything more than we can handle but I also believe in the power of prayer. Good Morning Heather,
While you are right that God does not give us anything we cannot handle, he does test us sometimes doesn't he!! You are in my thoughts and prayers that this will all end soon for you. Maybe they could do your gallbladder and tonsils at the same time and you could just get it over with!!!! It has been done and can be if your surgeons are willing. Remember we are always here for you. Cindy |

Oh Heather!
You've had such a tough time! Prayers? Of course! I've been praying for you already! I'd seriously think about the suggestion Cindy had--Push those docs to see if it's possible to just do both surgeries at once! Heck, one recovery is better than two separate ones! My Dad had his gallbladder taken out last year. His incision is really tiny! And about 3 weeks later, he was amazed at how well he felt! He says he didn't know how sick he really was til they got that gallbladder out and got rid of the problem. It had been giving him tummy trouble for quite a while! Sending lots of hugs and prayers, |

I will pray for you right now. I hope you feel better soon. I know how crummy a stupid malfunctioning gallbladder can make you feel... no fun.

I'm late to the hugs and prayers party, too. So...I'll just have to go and kick 'em up a few notches to make up for it.

I have my surgery to get my gallbladder out set for Monday at 11:15. I have to be at the hospital at 9:45 am. The doctor said I will be at the hospital a total of six hours but the surgery only lasts about one hour.
I ready to start the healing process. I was told the usual don't eat or drink anything after midnight. But, I can take my migraine medicine that I normally take in the morning with a sip of water. Please say some more prayers that the surgery goes well without any complications. Thanks for all your hugs and prayers. Heather,
"Been there, done that." Had my gall bladder out during emergency surgery. Was about the sickest I can remember being. Surgery was Tues. afternoon & I was released from hosp. Fri am. Would have been allowed to leave Thurs. am, but for allergic reaction to morphine Wed. pm. Simple surgery, 3 small incisions. Was on my feet Tues. eve. Went from not able to move (running at both ends, hurting like my worst migraine ever, etc.) to on my feet in about 18 hours. My only restriction since then has been to limit my fat intake, which I'd been doing already. Worried about you? No. Pray for you? Of course! Rebecca |
