Has anyone tried Lyrica yet for their migraine treatment? The neurologist is pushing it for my daughter, but we're leary of the side effects.

We have some people on the forum who use Lyrica successfully. I'm sure they will be along to share their experiences. All side effects listed are potential side effects. Most people don't experience them, or the medication would never have gained approval.

Here's some info about Lyrica:

Lyrica Oral

Take care.

I have a friend who was practically "cured" from her migraines with Lyrica...me on the other hand, I tried it & felt like I had a mild stomach flu for the full 8 weeks I was on it (even with occasional vomiting, etc)--while still having the usual migraines. Miserable.

But since everybody's different, you just never know 'til you try. Frowner Good luck.

Welcome to the forum, Suz!

Like the others have said, you never know about a med until you try it yourself.

Hi Suz,

I am currently on Lyrica. I was on Topamax for 2 years and just started Lyrica at the end of January. The first month I was on 50mg, second month 100mg and now the third month 200mg.

Remember that side effects are only possible. Not everyone will get the side effects.

In my personal experience, I tend to be sensitive to side effects. I appreciated titrating up on Lyrica slowly. I only got side effects when I started the medication and when I increased the dose, but they went away. This is just my personal experience. Like I said, side effects are only possible.
