Fledgling |
Just curious to know if anyone has read anything serious about this. In my personal research into migraines I've found a few articles on the topic. I was unaware that it was the primary treatment for severe migraines until the early 1900s. I realize this might be a bit of a controversial topic - and am in no way abdicating illegal drug use - however I am curious to know what the most recent medical professionals have said in regards to this - both positive and negative. The articles I've found are about 10 years old. Anyone know of anything more recent?

I don't know of any recent articles. All I know is anecdotal experiences I've read about on the forums in the last several years. Most people who have reported trying cannabis for migraine have reported that even if it seemed to help initially, after a while it made the migraine pain worse. Some have reported that it made the pain worse to begin with. Considering that there aren't any properties of cannabis that can shut down and abort the migraine process itself, it isn't a viable first-line abortive med. It can only mask the pain, if it even does that, and for a lot of people that have mentioned trying it, it doesn't.
Just to be clear for anyone reading this thread, even if it was effective, our policy around here is that since it's an illegal substance, we can't condone its use. It is a topic that comes up from time to time. But it always dies down quickly again, too. I think that's pretty telling, in my opinion. Dragondrool Forum Moderator ~~8=:>>>> |
