I'm in the process of trying to find a local doctor who will work with Dr. Krusz to give me IV treatment here. I don't know why this is such a challenge, but until I went to Dallas to see Dr. Krusz, the only time I'd ever been given IV therapy was when I resorted to visiting the ER. I'm hopeful that a local neurologist will be willing to work with Dr. Krusz to coordinate my care, but if anyone has any advice or experiences of how they were able to make this happen for yourselves, I'm all ears and eager to hear about it.

The last headache clinic I went to (that subsequently got fired) did outpatient IV treatments as an option for all patients. You just had to call into their nurse triage line and they would (supposedly) call you back to schedule you to come in that same day. I say supposedly because the two times I tried this, I couldn't get in the same day largely due to their staffing difficulties. The first time I had to wait five days, and the second time I went in the following day.
I don't know if my new neuro offers this as an option, and I forgot to ask at my appointment this week. I don't have much advice, really, but it seems to be hard for offices that aren't set up for it to administer this type of therapy. Headache clinics seem to have it more readily available since they have more headache patients than a regular neurology clinic would. Diana, do you have a HA clinic, or maybe a university/teaching hospital near you? Those might be places for you to try. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ Why do I capitalize Migraine?
