I am battling a doozy of a migraine today. Went into PCP and he gave me a shot of Demerol and Vistaril. I'm still hurting so he's going to call in some Hydrocodone, Zofran and Ativan. Why ativan though? I thought that was for anxiety.
Any input? |

Hmmm. Ativan can be very relaxing, so maybe he's thinking if you can really relax and rest, you'll have a better shot at kicking the migraine to the curb. Other than that, I have no idea why he'd prescribe it, other than that you might have seemed anxious under the strain of the migraine. The only real way to know any of this for sure is to ask the doc himself. But that's my best guess.
