doc prescribed maxalt for me. it's friday and after hours so can't get ahold of anyone there. i know you can't take more than 20 mg in any 24 hour period. and i know there's a limit to how many you're supposed to take in a month. anyone know what that is? i've taken 20 mg so far this month and i need to take another one tonight but don't know if i can. i'm goign to anyway. what' the worst that can happen, rebound?

I'd recommend calling your pharmacist. They're equipped to handle these type of questions... and will provide you with an accurate medical reason for whatever they tell you about taking more maxalt than your doc had wanted you to take in a 24 hr period!

oh duh, it never occurred to me to call the pharmacist. all i could think of was, i've got to get on the migraine forum... funny what you think of when you're in the throes of a migrine.

Yes, for right now, call your pharmacist. They should be able to give you information about how much Maxalt you can safely take.
You may want to discuss this question with your doctor when you can. My doctor did not hesitate to tell me the maximum number of Axert I could take per week and per month. Nutcracker Forum moderator  |

Whoa! Rebound is nothing to tempt! Been there, done that, and burned the proverbial t-shirt. You end up in rebound, and you've got bigger fish to fry! It's so not worth it.
