Hey guys,
Had another visit with my study people. The one where I submitted my diary for review. Maximum is an average over 3 months of 14 migraine days. I had 14.3 . The 2 people present then told me that they doubted it was anything to worry about... That they'd either accept it at face value or tack on another month of diary to attempt to bring my average down.

I said " what do you mean, they?" they laughed and said "we're not the ones who decide, there is a whole commitee that we fax your diary to. they decide!" greatttt...

LOL.

Then there was the reading of my 2 days nickel allergen patch test. it was completely negative for any reaction. yeehawww.

Thats where it started to turn to crap.

you see, I was supposed to have a portable cardiac monitor (called holter) to monitor my heart rate and rythms for 24 hrs, because of my tendancy for arrythmias (irregular heart rhythms) and tacchycardia (rapid heart rate).

"well your not going to have the holter today" said the nurse " your cardiologist reviewed your last ekg and saw that the arrythmias were quite small and it was just sinus tachychardia , not ventricular, so its just normal for some hearts" (it was a 2 minute (literally) ekg

Now before I tell you this next part, keep in mind that I had rehashed the same old crap every single visit! ok? that i had told them all these symptoms before in minute detail? got it?

I said to her " So its normal then to get your heart pumping so fast that it goes from a normal rate to 160, just from lifting your head up an inch from the pillow? Followed immediately by dizziness so severe you have to fight to not drop your head back on the pillow? And its normal that by the time you ever so slowly make your way to a standing position, you often fall from dizziness? I suppose its also normal to sometimes not even be aware that you're falling until you find yourself on the floor?"

"Oh my God, never ever ever did you tell me this before! why if you'd told me this, we might have questioned your eligibility for the study. we don't want SICK people in our study. I'm going to try to get the cardiologist in right now to launch an investigation"

The cardiologist was in back to back surgery. and the second surgery developed a complication, so it woulda been hrs before i could see him, so she'll book me in for probably tuesday.

But talk about selective hearing eh!?
maybe i can get the cardiologist to do whatever hes gonna do, AFTER the closure, if im in the right group. LOL

anyhow, keep me in your thoughts and prayers guys, im going to need them... while your at it you can throw in a few hugs toooo...

Glad the nickel test came out okay. Fingers Crossed about the diary.

Sorry that you are going through such a run-around with the staff. Too bad they didn't key in to what you'd told them before!

I'm definitely keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, my friend.
Thanks for letting us know what is going on.

Take care of you, Group Hug

My goodness, Bim. This whole study is really stressful, isn't it?

It reminds me a lot of the process we went through to get my mother on the liver transplant list...Just when you think you're done and getting in, you find out there's more and MORE to the process!!

Sending you lots of Group Hug and Smiler,

Heartjenny
