I've been on 200 mgs of inderal since January 2008 having increase from 160mgs and will be seeing the neuro again in May. The inderal has helped but not enough so I'm wondering what other meds the neuro is likely to try next. I've had endep in the past on it's own and with inderal but don't feel it was effective and metropolol was less effective than inderal.
What other meds are they likely to go onto next? Cheers DJ |

DJ,
Since you asked, there are over 100 prevenatives!! Here is the link to the websites list of them. Prevenatives It's difficult to know what your doctor will want to do based on your history. But you can do some reading, and have some questions. You have many options. Cindy |

Thanks for the list. It's very comprehensive. I've taken metropolol in the past but it wasn't as effective and periactin made my breath stink (I don't mind dry mouth but not breath problems). And also endep.
I saw that when I went to the first neuro and he sent me my file when I requested copies of his letters (as he was no longer practising) he had written down 3 older tablet options being inderal, endep and Sandomigran. I've been taking inderal now and endep in the past so am wondering what people know about sandomigran. With medication I'm wanting to avoid faster heart rate and weight gain. |

Unfortunately, there isn't any way for us to answer where they're likely to go next. That varies greatly due to our own personal histories, as well as doctors' personal preferences and experience with prescribing different meds. That said, if the Inderal is helping, sometimes a doctor might go the cocktail route, and prescribe a med or suggest a supplement that might boost the effects of the preventative you're currently on.

Yes I'll wait and see what happens in May. Maybe he will add on a second med. I certainly don't want to be on 200 mgs of inderal forever but am happy to do so whilst getting control.
