Hey guys,

I think i told you that I had gone into status again. I got a mig sunday night so by thursday I deceded to call my Dr. I had missed two days of work and needed to stop this migraine. He called in Inapsine injections for me to take 2 times a day for 3 days with my benadryl injections.

Have any of you tried this? It may be helping my head off and on at this point, but it still breaks through. I still have 2 doses left to go, though. It is so so sedating that I can't do much more than sleep though. It gave me some aweful anxiety too but I am tolerating it, so that I can see if this will help.

Any words or thoughts about this one? I had never even heard of it before now.

Alaura--

Dr. K gave me inapsine with benadryl to use for my migraines. I use it alone or can add it to my toradol on bad headache days when I can have toradol. It does make me really sleepy too. So far I've been lucky and it hasn't caused any nervousness thanks to the benadryl.

That is really interesting Tracie. I guess I never thought of it being an abortive, too. I also have benadryl and toradol injections as abortives, but my doc wanted to add this in for a couple days to see if it could break the migraine. How well does it work as an abortive for you?

Hi Alaura,

Inapsine is an antiemetic medication that helps reduce nausea, it does not abort a Migraine attack. Benedryl or torodol aren't abortives either sweetie, rather used for rescue medications.

Have you taken a look at this article:Preventive, Abortive, and Rescue Medications - What's the Difference? With all the different medications out there it really does get confusing Roll Eyes

I actually have read that but I guess I am a little confused. Besides a muscle relaxer, the benadryl and toradol are the only meds I have. My doc uses them as an abortive with me, I guess. Or maybe I am just confused lol. I use the toradol and benadryl regularly since I don't respond well to other meds. And the muscle relaxer does nothing for a migraine. can other meds be treated like they are abortives even if they aren't normally?
