My grandmother said that she heard something on The Doctors tv show this week (week of 10/19/09) about a new inhaler that isn't yet FDA approved, but could offer some relief for migraines. She said it was called Manidex. Do any of you know anything about it?

Thanks!
Susan

I haven't heard of it yet but maybe someone else has? I may have to swing by and check out the Doctor's website. I believe they keep an archieve of their recent shows on there. I'll let you know if I can find it....

Sue,

Could it be Levadex? It's an inhaler-style delivery of dihydroergotamine, the same medication in DHE-45 injectable and Migranal Nasal Spray. You can read more about it in New Migraine Drug Levadex Performs Well in Trial.

The generally long periods of time between my Migraines are the result of working with a Migraine specialist to refine my preventive regimen. You can see my current regimen HERE.

Anyone who has had some success with DHE may be interested in this. My headache specialist has transitioned me from dhe to ergonovine a drug in the same family.
I am cautiously optimistic that this may help. The recurrence of headaches has been very bad for a very long time. The weather is changing and I am triggered very easily with weather changes. I have not had a full on headache for 5 days. Maybe he is on to something. Anyway I will keep you posted in case this is useful to anyone.
Best wishes to all
