Ok I know I haven't been on here in a long time shame on me but have a few questions. My dr just started me out of Keppra? Has anyone tried this yet? Also since none of the triptans work for me and I have been on Alot of preventives with no success my Neuro her in Phoenix wants to try a few things to rule out some diseases. One is a spinal tap , ekg, eeg. also some blood work to rule out Lupus. So my World is terrible right now. I had to go to Er in Feb due to status Migraine x3 days and had a stroke. Was in there for almost 1 wk. Was so scarey. I tried what triptans I had no success , then went to my abortive which is tramadol and percuct no help so had to tap in to my hydromorhine ( which I hate) no success so Er I went by the time I got there didn't even know my name couldn't feel my face, fingers, left arm. So anyways now he is concerned and whats to rule out lupus, MS, and CIVD which runs in my family. But he did start me out on this new drug Keppra said its sorta new to prevent migraines so if anyone is taking it please let me know Would like to know how is works for you and if you are having any bad side effects. Thanks all ...
Kelly

Welcome Kelly. I haven't taken Keppra but we have information on it.

Keppra

Keppra isn't new, it's been around a while.

Also, as far as classifying a drug an abortive, only triptans and Midrin are classified that way. All other drugs are rescue.

I know you're scared, but I think it's good to have these tests done; if there is something wrong, then you can begin addressing it. I think anticipation ahead of time is the worst. Once the tests are done you may feel better.

I think we've had a handful of people discussing Keppra. Have you tried using the search function?

Keep in mind though, that polling others for results and side effects isn't likely to be of much use, really. We're all so different when it comes to meds.
