I finally was put on Topomax, which is what I really wanted to try after gaining over 30 pounds on Propranalol.
I've only been on it since June, so only two months. I'm up to 60 mg twice a day and my headaches have decreased!! It's so nice! But...I have had this rash on my stomach that will not go away. I don't know if it's from the Topomax or not though? It's itchy and drives me crazy. I also do wildlife rehab and sometimes will get a reaction from raccoons on my hands, but I haven't had raccoons now in the last month either, so I am ruling them out. Plus it's not the same type of rash I get from them. I really really don't want to give up this Topomax, but how can I tell if I'm allergic to it? Wouldn't an allergy to it be more widespread? I'm hoping this is just something else! |

Please call your doctor?
Rash is listed among the potential side effects of Topamax and was reported as a side effect in virtually all the clinical trials. It doesn't have to be widespread. It may not be the Topamax, but you really should talk to your doc. OK? ![]() Teri Robert Lead Expert, MyMigraineConnection terimmc@helpforheadaches.com
