I started on Lexapro about a month ago for depression and anxiety. It has helped a lot with my stress level, which is a big migraine trigger for me, and my migraines have actually decreased a lot! I think I've only had to take rescue meds once since starting the Lexapro - so that's a great extra benefit!
Just thought I'd share that... Hoping for headache free days to all of you! |

Glad to hear the Lexapro is working for you. That's encouraging to me personally, because I'm currently trying another drug in the same class, citalopram/Celexa. My neurologist says that if the Celexa doesn't work, Lexapro will be the next thing we try.
I hope the improvement continues for a long time! |

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for sharing. It is always great when we hear good news. If I may say a word on stress being a Migraine trigger. Stress itself is not a Migraine trigger, but an exacerbating factor. When we are under stress we become more susceptible to our triggers. Maybe one way to think of it is like this - when we are stressed out we are more likely to "catch a cold." Stress doesn't cause the cold; the cold virus does, but being stressed makes us more vulnerable to the virus. At any rate, |
