I started on Lexapro about a month ago for depression and anxiety. It has helped a lot with my stress level, which is a big migraine trigger for me, and my migraines have actually decreased a lot! I think I've only had to take rescue meds once since starting the Lexapro - so that's a great extra benefit!

Just thought I'd share that...

Hoping for headache free days to all of you!

Glad to hear the Lexapro is working for you. That's encouraging to me personally, because I'm currently trying another drug in the same class, citalopram/Celexa. My neurologist says that if the Celexa doesn't work, Lexapro will be the next thing we try.

I hope the improvement continues for a long time!

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for sharing. It is always great when we hear good news.

If I may say a word on stress being a Migraine trigger. Stress itself is not a Migraine trigger, but an exacerbating factor. When we are under stress we become more susceptible to our triggers. Maybe one way to think of it is like this - when we are stressed out we are more likely to "catch a cold." Stress doesn't cause the cold; the cold virus does, but being stressed makes us more vulnerable to the virus.

At any rate, Thumbs Up to feeling better.
