I'm back and I'm better now. I needed the time to help my mother sort herself out a bit and to come to terms with what appears to be my real biggest problem.

Both of my daughters have benefited tremendously from chiropractics. I had already decided to talk with their chiropractor about my overall health situation, to ask if he believed he could improve my stamina and reduce this ridiculous fatigue. I had not set an appointment but had gotten the preliminary paperwork filled out and my meds and supplements printed.

Well, then I fell again on Saturday 10/18. By Monday I was in such pain that I knew it was now or never for the chiropractor.

He x-rayed my spine and found bone spurs on my C-4 and C-5 vertebrae, with the spur on the C-5 broken off probably from my fall (it's just floating around in my tissue--gotta remember to ask him if that's ok). I've got degenerative disk disease in my neck. My C-6 disk is off-center to the left by about 35% and my spinal cord is affected.

I've got scoliosis, my spine forming a perfect "S" shape side-to-side. I've got arthritis in my lower back probably from a back injury 20 years ago and it's affecting the nerves in my right leg. I fell because I couldn't get my right leg up to the next step on the staircase. Had my head not hit my arm, it would have hit solid Pergo floor. All of my vertebrae are screwy, turned this direction and that direction, all the way down, and not stacked up like coffee mugs they way they should be.

I was...overwhelmed. In one of those funny flash thoughts you have when you're overwhelmed, I wondered if he was actually showing me my own x-rays or if he had mixed me up with someone else. Then I saw my eyeglasses on my skull--the tech had forgotten to tell me to take them off and had told me that she and the doc had chuckled about it. I recognized my dental work too, and my...chin. Prominent, stubborn chin o'mine...

Elder Assistant Offspring has felt my back and confirms the "S" shape and the twists of the vertebrae.

No wonder...no wonder...I can't stop saying it to myself...no wonder...

So, I've been under an intensive chiropractics and acupuncture regimen for the last few weeks. The chiro does both and recommended both for me. I've blogged this in greater detail if anyone is interested.

My report: the inflammation in the nerves from my collarbone upward has decreased which has reduced the head pain portion of the Migraine attacks. That's from the chiropractics.

My stamina is very, very slowly improving and my crystals are doing much better work for me. That's the acupuncture.

Will I be able to avoid surgery? Who knows. The chiro says he won't give up on me.

Just wanted to share. Thanks for letting me come back.

MW,
Of course we would let you come back!! You chose to leave but that didn't mean we agreed with your decision too leave in the first place. We have missed your poofing away all our hardships.

Hair Raising that is a lot going on in your back. It's good to know that your pain is going down some. Its great that some therapy is working for you and that they are concrete reasons for the pain.
