I am so used to having to wait a month for dr. appt that my chiro has completely taken me by surprise!

I was referred to him after I threw my back out and found out I have a bit of scoliosis along with the beginning stages of bone deterioration. I tend to be a bit of a skeptic but since I quit work to focus on health and family, I figured, why not?

So, I visit him and he explains a ton of stuff but in a way that I can understand. After fixing the pain in my back, he asked if I would like to continue treatment for relief and/or reduction in my migraine attacks. I agree and we begin.

He is relatively young and is open to different types of treatment. He goes by X-rays, not just off the cuff. His goal is to have me stay away from rescue meds as much as possible but since he used to be an RN he understands the need for them sometimes too.

When I missed an appointment he called to check on me and see if I needed anything. He even offered to come to the house. When he heard my hesitancy he said he would come over when DH was home. (I figured he was trying to hit on me, even though I am old enough to be his mom! LOL)

Well, due to the weather, I am down and out again and missed my appt. He called and offered to do a house visit (no extra fee) and even gave me his cell number in case I changed my mind and said even on the weekend. He just wants to see me well.

He also doesn’t pressure me about payments. Just wanted to say, what a great guy he is!!

Sounds like you've found a jewel. Is your head improving?

Hi Gretchen-Yeah, he is a great guy! I cancelled for the rest of the week due the weather we are having (coastal storms/rain) which is a trigger of mine. So next week I will be back on a "normal" schedule Fingers Crossed

Although the migraines are still frequent they seem to be less intense. I haven't had an ER visit since I started seeing him. I haven't crawled under my bed or hid in the closet or banged my head on the floor since seeing him either.

Also, the chiro has actually delayed one by two days. I went in and he strictly worked on my neck/shoulder blade area where it was really tight and also adjusted me as gently as he could...still hurt but worth it for the two days of freedom.

He also noted that when I come in during an attack I have a fever, strange huh?

Yesterday was tough, one of the worst in a while, but, still no above "side effects". Although I did cry and push on my temple a bit. DH was there giving me his touch and some smooches too.

Hey, another jewel huh?

Well, sad but true, I had to "fire" my chiro. Not for anything he did but because my savings account dwindled and my credit card increased, funny how that happens huh?

He took very well and said that he would be more than happy to help me if I can drive over there during a migraine. Hey, better than the ER huh?
