Well, my neck is a mess again. HUGE migraine trigger. So, I'm going to try CST again. This time for the full session...

Last time I got a taste of what it would be like when her patient no-showed. The CST therapist is in the same office of providers as a doctor I go to sometimes when I need something taken care of, and can get in with right away. Since the practice is so new, I almost use it like urgent care...and I'm getting top- notch physicians and other practitioners at this place.

So, just out of curiosity, I wondered if there was any appt open in the next week- and there was. For an hour from now.

I'm not sure if I can believe that she can totally release the muscle spasming going on in my neck.

I'm also afraid I'll puke... been a little prodromey today, and with the wrong movements of my head- well... Hair Raising But, at least there's someone there that can write an Rx and call it in across the street, should I get a migraine on the table. As long as it's not Frova or Amerge, (out of one, low on the other) the insurance will pay for it today. Well- I rarely sing the Maxalt jingle, but... hey... It works sometimes.

So, back to the CST. I'm realizing that I really don't know WHAT it is, and how it differs that much from the massage that my PT used to do- which was nice, (Oh, melt). It's so not in my nature to do a medical technique without knowing exactly what it does. But, I'm getting triggered by my neck like crazy- having to fight for every inch of migraine-freeness isn't fun.

I'm going to go do some reading. Cool

Obviously it's past "an hour from now", so best anticipatory wishes are kind of belated. You'll just have to settle for some Hope It Went Swimmingly And Your Day Has Been Magnificent Because Of It wishes instead. Smiler

Um.

I have no words.

I'd be curious to know if anyone else was helped. For me... bust.

Big expensive bust.

When I got off the table, I was really nauseous. Like REALLLLY nauseous. I got up, and she yelled at me for moving my head (how was I supposed to know that?) When it became apparent that I wasn't going to clear the nausea on my own, she got me back onto the table and worked on me some more.
"Better?"
"Not really good but better. Still gonna puke, I think"
"Well, that's 'cause I worked on xxxx area of your neck. It'll pass." (yes, it did... in the prickly bush outside the doctors' office!)

"I think you have lots of problems there." (tell me something I don't know!) "I'd like to see you weekly." (Credit card says "thanks for playing, but no.")

I get up to pay- this time, rolling onto my side and then sitting up- and half the room is gone. I mean- I can't see it. I mean- I can blink and... It comes back in pieces. Oh, it's an aura. Darn! I try to pay- aphasia. I get outside and just let loose- um- watering the plants. No doctor on- it was the one day that there wasn't a MD there to write an Rx. Use frova. I have little left, but this is a BAD situation. It's hot outside, I'm puking, and I need this aborted.

It works enough for my vision to clear. I go back to work and call CVS to see if the other part of my Rx is still there- Pay cash for some. Uggh. More aura problems. Can't drive. Windowshop until it goes away.

I guess that was a flop. Oh well. Glad I tried it- now I know that it doesn't work for me! Give me my TENS unit anytime of the week over that!

That's about all I have to say also. Frowner Other than... it's really easy to make typos- especially with a low grade neuro-fuzzy brain... I now understand how shifty them letters can be!

You just made me laugh so hard the tears are nearly rollin' ! You're pretty quick on the draw despite all that you're wading through today.

Dang shifty letters! You've gotta watch those buggers. Wink

p.s. I didn't have any excuse when my letters went all shifty. I wasn't brain frogged in the least. Oh, well.

Hello Jamie,

I wasn't going to say anything until hearing about your session. The only difference between yours and mine was I didn't throw up!

Mine did "feel" good for about two seconds after she poked around deep in the most painful part of my upper cervical/occiptal area.
"Did you feel that release?" No, did you......She was way into talking about past issues, not, how they affect, or effect as the case may be, my pain and suffering and even told me my son was an old soul! Serioiusly.....

Maybe it works for others, and that is great if it does.

Have you tried aqua therapy for your neck? Now that did work for me.

Well, that's MUCH better than how I did. The nausea came back around 10:30pm, and I had to drag my sorry self to CVS to get something refilled STAT.

Oh well. Live and learn, right? Roll Eyes

YES!!! Exactly. It felt so good for about a minute out of the 1hr session... And now it HURTS. I feel like someone kept kicking me in my neck.

You've got to be kidding me. That was the other thing said- that for a 27 year old person, these bad things were affecting my day to day life dramatically, and how she could clean it all up if I kept this up... But otherwise, I was just going to be trapped in this old body as a youth.

Couldn't agree more. I bet there are some people that it works for, and for them, what a great thing to be able to feel better- medication free. For me, it caused a whole lot of pills to be swallowed last night.

Like swimming pool- aqua therapy?

No, unfortunately, I haven't... and can't... unless there's some other chemical used to sanitize things other than chlorine, as Chlorine is a major migraine trigger for me. Uggh. And with the climate we have here, our pool was open on Apr. 15th, and doesn't close till it gets consistently cold. I think it was still open on Halloweeen last year.

I wish I could try something like that. I miss pools.

Glad that it works for you- if I can ever find a place that does it w/o using chlorine, I'm there!

Jamie,

Around here, public pools have to use chlorine for sanitizing because that's what can be tested for. Private people can use different salts. My BIL in Georgia uses copper salts in his pool and hot tub. Very different & not at all unpleasant.

My sister (with whom I will soon be neighbors) also uses the salts, I think. Wish you & I were closer! Then I could invite you down on a regular basis to swim & soak!

Oh, we also have "Pluff Mud" around here. It's the deposits from "upstate" that settle out in our saltwater creeks, rivers & harbor. Lots of sulfur & other minerals. Makes a good mudpack for sore joints, etc. There's plenty in my back yard at my new/old house.

Ahhh.... Everything is right with the world again. I went and got a regular massage, and he worked out all the knots created by the CST person.

I'm not nauseous anymore (was all day AGAIN until the massage @ 6:30) and my head isn't all gunked up with neuro-fuzz. I feel like a million bucks.

Ok. I'll be back tomorrow. I need to relax and enjoy the euphoria... Night, y'all.

It is indeed Educator's Weekend at Borders. Too bad the book I want doesn't come out until Tuesday. Even then, they sometimes don't get a copy in right away.

Hmmm... do they honor it if you buy the book now and pick it up on tuesday? Sorta- like a pre-purchase? I'm pretty sure that if they had to order a book for you b/c they didn't have a copy in store, they'd honor the savings... maybe worth the try if it's not that far from your house...

I'm going over to border's tomorrow... Happy shopping days!
