im willing to try anything. and after going through childbirth earlier this year with no medication...sticking needles in my body seems like a breeze!
so today was my second treatment of acupuncture for migraines. the first appointment was $160. today it was $65. the dr. is really nice and amazingly the needles really don't hurt. just feels like a mosquito bite prick. i hope it helps, im trying to stay positive and keep an open mind.
monday i have my nerve block. the qtip up my nose thing. jeez im just getting poked every where! lets see if my dr. acutually keeps this appointment. its been canceled twice since JULY!!!!!!!!!!! urgh!

Hi JJ, I started acupuncture about 4 weeks ago, out of total desperation. Just had my sixth treatment tonight.

It started off very well for me, and has helped my sleep immensely. (I have terrible trouble sleeping, in addition to both chronic daily headache and very frequent migraines.) I've plateaued the past week or so, but my acupuncturist is trying to see me more often to help me. She is one of the first doctors I've had who understands how horrible it is to live with head pain every single day.

If nothing else, the acupuncture relaxes me, and helps reset my sleep clock. It has also knocked the severity of my migraines quite a bit, and whenever I go in with a mild migraine, she gets the pain down to a 1-2. (I don't really have pain free days anymore between the migraines and CDH, so a 2 is very good for me!)

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Fingers Crossed that acupuncture helps you out. It's amazing that something like sticking a bunch of needles into you can relieve pain.

Please keep us updated, ok?

Hi Jennifer! I really hope accupuncture works for you! It did for me! It also gave me energy that I had been lacking for so long.

I'd still be going, but my appts. were set during work hours, and my boss decided after a year that she didn't want me leaving work early once a week anymore. So now I just go when he has an appt. available!

Good luck!!! *fingers crossed*
