After my inpatient stay, I learned not many IV treatments worked for me. Visteral, DHE, Inapsine make me sick. Magnesium helps a tiny bit. I am going on several days of a 7-9 straight and need to go in tomorrow. I feel I need one of these infusions along with a strong narcotic to mask the pain and some benedryl to get some sleep. (as I have slept only 2 hours at a time max for several days) I was wondering what you think of this approach? I want to avoid a stroke *high blood pressure and cholesterol-i am only 34 - as my husband is having an affair and my head can't take anymore pain. (most people would say my heart-which is broken too, but I need to take care of my head right now) Thank you so much for a fast response.

Hi!
Here's the answer I posted to you yesterday in the Questions folder... Oh, {{{{{{Kristin}}}}}} You're right -- you need to get this broken. They can easily do a combo infusion if they will -- Maybe magnesium since it helps you at least a bit, Benadryl if that helps you sleep. They might want to finish the infusion to see what it does before giving you an opioid (narcotic). Depends on the hospital. Nut gave you the link for the IV infusion article. Have you ever had Reglan in an infusion? If Benedryl doesn't help break a Mig for you and you're asking for it only to get some sleep, you might want to discuss Reglan in its place. It's a pretty good abortive in IV form for some people. When you're up to it, please come back and let us know how you're doing? ![]() Teri Robert Lead Expert, MyMigraineConnection terimmc@helpforheadaches.com
