I lost the link, I got a new computer and I guess that was lost in the melee, but there was an article that said that triptans did not cause harm to hemiplegic migraine patients and that they could be prescribed as a rescue treatment to treat their migraines.

Have you seen / heard this, or did I just wish it and / or dream it?

I appreciate all that you and the other hosts do here and 'thank you' is so small a thing, but as an emergency responder, I know it means a lot top me.

Hugs and many thanks!! I'm gonna try to coerce my neuro-jerk into prescribing me some triptans - they really worked great when I had them. The docs got scared when they realized that Ihad a heart condition and refused to let me have them and then my 'relief' was narcotics, which was NO RELIEF!!!!

Preventatives only work up to a certain point and I truly would like a rescue. Surely if a reputable source backs me, I can get the triptans. If not, the doc goes to the FIRED list and I search further....

I need the full journal article before I comment further and write my article. I'll have it next week. Still, it's important to know that this was ONE study. Some doctors may disagree, and until there is research, I don't know that I can blame them.
