Teri/Nancy:

I'm in the process of moving and been noticing my migraine head is getting worse then ever. At first I thought it was the stress of the move so, I thought I would do some relax techniques I have learned.

But, I have noticed that with me bending over a lot and putting things in boxes and then lifting things a lot that my head starts to throb even more. It starts to have shooting pain going in the back of my head like no other. Which make me dizzy and light headed. I usually sit down until it goes away. But, now it is getting closer to the day that I have to actually get most of the things out and done which is making me go a little faster which doesn't help. This pain is like someone stabbing me in the back of the head. I start getting blurred vision. Should I go get help immediately. Could this be more serious then my migraine.

Please help me.

Tracy,

The problem is that we simply don't know if this is a shift in your Migraine pattern or something else. From your description, it could be an exertional trigger, blood pressure issues, cerebrospinal fluid level issues, any number of things.

I know time is precious, especially now while you're trying to move, but you really need to give your doc a call tomorrow.

Please keep us posted?

Teri,

I just got moved into my new place. I haven't noticed any change in my migraine pattern since my move. I found out when I called my doctors' office he said not to worry about it. He said just keep taking the medications (topamax and tramadol). He refused for me to come in and see him. Since, I started with these migraines in December I haven't had much relief in trying to get the migraines under control. The doctor at one time said I had a heart condition and with that I explained there was no way. I did go to the my primary who has been my doctor for a long time which explained to me that she would have the tests ran which we did to rule out a heart condition. I called the my neuro doctor and he stated that there was no other medication he could subscribe. Since, he is not sure what it is then.

I have been trying to get into the Ryan's Institute here in St. Louis because I feel that I need to see a different doctor but, there is a seminar that I would have to go to first which doesn't help because I wouldn't be really able to pay attention to very much because I am in so much pain. Plus, with that the seminars are only once a month which scares me even more trying to get the help that I need to get in to see the right doctor. From what I have read here on the forums and your articles I need to be seen as soon as possible. I am not sure what to do next.

Please help me. I don't know how much longer I can have the pain in my head. It is effecting my life in every aspect. I work for a insurance company in a call center setting which means that I don't get any favors or understanding about the migraines.

Oh, Tracy! I'm sorry, honey. There's just no excuse for the lack of treatment from your current doctor.

OK. Sounds like the Ryan isn't a good option for you just now. Could you get someone to drive you to Springfield? I think it's about 2.5 hours from you. If that's a possibility, let me know. OK? Dr. Roger Cady is there, and there's no seminar that you'd have to go to.

Kiddo, do you need a phone conversation? If so, send me an email to the addy below in my sig. Let me know your number and a good time to call, and I'll call you so we can talk. OK?

hugs!

Hi Tracy,

I see the doctors at Ryan. They are excellent. Other than the seminar, are there any other problems getting in?

Is this seminar something they are asking you to do? I can't recall having to do that myself but maybe some things have changed in 3 years since I began seeing them.

If you need help getting to Springfield, I live here in the area too. I can help you out if you need it.

I can always pass my info on to Teri if you want it. I know she has my phone number so if you need anything don't hesitate to ask.
