Hi there,
I have a question regarding migraine and dizziness. I have been reading your book (excellent) but I couldn't find any information on M.A.V. I was misdiagnosed for many years as having bppv (begnin paroxysmal positional vertigo) and recently was referred to a neurologist who gave me this M.A.V. diagnosis. What do you know about positional vertigo and migraine? I used to get debilitating positional vertigo and then these episodes morphed into more of a foggy "half there" feeling, VERY light and sound sensitive and now I get headaches along with the dizziness. One episode last fall seemed to have really (temporarily) damaged my vestibular nerve or something because it affected me for weeks! Get tinnitus and ear pain/fullness also Frowner

Welcome, Halfthere.

Teri will be in to answer your question too, but I wanted to welcome you and see if I could start you off with some information.

Migraine associated Vertigo does exist but there is not much information out there. We have an Ask the Clincian question on this topic you may find helpful. You can find that HERE.

The best thing may be to see a Migraine specialist, instead of a neurologist, who are experts in Migraine disease and headache disorders. Neurologists may be fine doctors, but aren't able to be experts in any one area because they treat so many different conditions. Click http://www.healthcentral.com/migraine/headache-specialists.html for our list of patient recommended Migraine specialists.

Let us know if we can help you further, ok?
