Hi Everyone:

Things have been really hectic with school coming to a close and I haven't had a chance to update you on Sarah.

After seeing Dr. K we were able to get in with a pain management specialist who is also a friend of ours just 30 minutes from our house. Dr. K sent him all the information which was a huge help. He was able to take all of Dr. K's info and then he ran even more extensive testing. This testing has been invaluable to our fight and after finding many issues besides the thyroid we are actually seeing small bits of improvement. (So glad Dr. K got us started on the right track!!! Thumbs Up)

She takes her finals tomorrow and we can actually rest a while and I think that will help even more.

She has continued her meds that she started with Dr. K and we have added some supplements to help with other levels that are out of balance.

I had no idea how sensitive the body is. It seems like that when one thing is out, many things are out. I have learned about all kinds of things including the Cartosal level (sp?)

We will keep you posted. Thanks to two fantastic doctors I feel like we are going to make it eventually.

She will head to youth camp next week and I will stay nearby in a hotel in case she gets bad and needs extra meds, etc.

Thanks for the update on your daughter! I'm glad to hear that Sarah is continuing to improve, and that you're putting together a good team of doctors for her. Here's to continued improvement and a good youth camp trip! Fingers Crossed Thumbs Up

Hi

Thanks for the update. I'm glad things are looking up for Sarah and you!

I think you may mean Cortisol- a natural steroid hormone produced by the adrenal gland. If that is "out of whack" it can really play havoc on our systems.

I'm sure she'll have a great time at camp.

Yes, cortisol. I don't spell very well when it comes to medical stuff.

Hers is completely out of whack and boy it has caused issues for sure. Hair Raising

What great news. I hope you continue to see improvement over the summer. Rest does help. Camp will be a nice break for her and you.

Take care and update us when you can.

It's so great when you finally start to see improvement. And I'm glad she's getting to go to camp. Little by little, she's getting a "real life" back. Hooray!

I'm so glad to hear things are going better.

Cortisol issues are pesky. Even small imbalances can be quite disruptive, and seem huge. Been there, done that.

I am amazed that something I had never heard of has her so totally out of balance.
