last night i went to bed with a little headache, thought it might be a migraine trying to break through the amitriptyline. I figured i could sleep it off.

most of today i had a little headache off and on, nothing serious enough or long enough to warrent taking ibuprofen, but slowly increasing. then about 4 the thing hit full on. the "toned down" (i say toned down because a migraine with the amitriptyline in my system is better than a migraine without) migraine triggered something like a tension headache, which i haven't had in a LONG time.

i put my ipod on the bed time/relaxing mix of sigur ros, damian rice, and other songs that don't feel like ice picks in my head. i fell asleep to a move, curled up in a chair. then i woke up, stumbled to bed and buried my head under my pillow because the room was unnecessarily bright. yea, light sensitivity. i've been connected to my ipod ever since.

thing is, i'm reluctant to take anything because i took quite a few ibuprofens over the last week to deal with cramps and i don't know if this is triggered all on its own or if it's a rebound from everything this week.

i got the tension pain to mostly go away with some relaxed breathing, but there's still the pain at my temple that makes me think that shoving something through my temple would be a good idea. so now i'm thinking that if i can make it until bedtime, i'll just try and sleep this thing off and see what tomorrow looks like. if it's still there, then i'm breaking down and taking pills so that i can survive work.

it might be getting better now, hard to tell, these things are sneaky. anyway, just wanted to write down the balancing act. mostly because i know that you understand, and sometimes it's just nice knowing that you have people in your corner with you. thanks for the backup.

i just need someone in my corner tonight.

llaynee,

Is ibuprofen all you take for your Migraines? You don't have any abortives? Maybe it's time to talk to your doctor about what you take when you have a Migraine?

i have imatrex, but i wasn't sure what i could take if it was a rebound. i am also on a daily dose of amitriptyline. usually the ibuprofen works with the amitriptyline when i do get a (now rarer and less painful, which is good) migraine.

last night was not fun. i got to remember and experience a migraine similar to the ones i got before i started daily amitriptyline. really, i just wanted to go to bed and sleep it off, but that didn't happen. basically enough pain and nausea to keep me awake for 2.5 hours.

today is better, but i'm tired and just sort of 'off' feeling. a little pain still every now and then, but i can ignore it. thanks for the support, i sort of needed it.

Hi!

I'm late getting here, but I wanted to welcome you.

I get a hangover feeling sometimes the day after a nasty monster. It can be "postdrome." With me, it's a washed-out feeling, with, like you, a little bit of residual head pain.

I hope you feel better soon. Maybe a good night's rest . . .

Llaynee--

I have reasonably good control over my migraines and I sometimes have trouble deciding if a mild headache is a headache or a migraine. One of my biggest clues (other than the nausea) is if I can't go to sleep. I can never sleep if it's a migraine. I can go to sleep if it's something else. So-o-o if it keeps me up, I abort it with my Zomig.
