I'm really new to this site and I was wondering if you knew of anyone ever miraculously recovering from migraines after having them almost their whole lives? I've been having them for almost 4 years now and I just don't know what to do. Thanks!

Welcome HBChels!
Miracles do happen here everyday!! They just don't always look like miracles! What I mean is that through finding the right doctors, the right medicine, some lifestyle changes and support things can go from awful to pretty darn good!! I've had migraines for 40+ years and they have been particularly bad in the last three years. But by listening to the advice of people here, having the encouragement to take an active role in my treatment, and the support of those who truly get it, I can honestly tell you that a miracle has happened in my life! Not the kind of miracle where everything is always perfect, but the kind of miracle where I have migraine free days and know to handle the days when the beast rears his ugly head!! It's a miracle that takes some hard work, but it is still an amazing miracle!!! I encourage you to stick around for the miracle!!! Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here, we should dance! " |

Welcome to the forum!!!
I don't think I've ever heard of someone's migraines magically resolving themselves. Sorry! But, I've met plenty of people on this board who have made incredible progress with the help of thier doctors, family and friends, and of course our little forum here. Educate yourself about your disease and treatment options. Find a good doctor you can work with as a partner in your medical care. You can make your own miracle |

Hello and welcome to our forum family, HBChels! Our goal is to provide everyone with the information and support that we all need to manage our Migraines and/or headaches. To that end, we consider this a “safe harbor,” where nobody tries to sell us anything, and we all use “family-friendly” language so parents are comfortable letting their children read the forum with them.
Please take a few minutes to review our policies and guidelines along with the other information in the START HERE folder. For information about Migraines, a good article to begin with is Learning About Migraines - Where to Start As much as we all hate the notion, there is absolutely no cure for migraine. So "miracle recoveries" really don't happen. That said, just as migraine can flare up suddenly, it can go into hiding suddenly, too. That doesn't mean you no longer have the disease, but that it's simply not presenting with symptoms. That can happen. As the others have said, even if your migraines don't go into hiding, it is possible to get them under control if you work at it. Some of us get by seeing general practice doctors or neurologists, but if you're having particularly stubborn migraines, or many of them, without good control, then seeing an actual migraine specialist might be the best thing you can do. We've got a list of them Here For the Clicking. Again, welcome! We look forward to getting to know you better. Dragondrool Forum Moderator ~~8=:>>>> |
