I have always had auditory hallucinations along with my migraines, the way some have the odor hallucination. I have had MRI's and nothing has been found. Anyone else get these? The room has to be absolutely silent and I think i hear music or talking in the other room like someone has their radio on in the other room very loudly.

It is really kind of creppy. I had the same thing happen and was afraid to tell anyone. I thought that's it! I'm senile. Then my doctor explain that happens to some. I see bugs on the wall or I smell fried chicken. Dutchess p092008224226[1].JPG |

I've had auditory hallucinations a handful of times. A couple of times it's been a sound like a TV or radio on in the background. A few times I'll get a distinct fluttering sound, as if there's a moth or something beating it's wings in my ear canal (and sometimes I feel that, too). Once I even heard a male voice say, "Just throw it away." Nothing was on, and I was alone in the room. Auditory aura is pretty much the weirdest of the auras, I think. By far.

I often think someone's left a radio on in another room, as I can "hear" dialogs. I also "see" the usual bright light spots & zig-zags. I've "smelled" everything from burning electrical wires to strange perfumes to various foods cooking.
What's odd to me is when I "hear" the radio when I'm home by myself.  Otherwise, I can at least blame it on someone else.Rebecca, The Island Mama |

I didn't even mention this to the doc! I didn't realize it was a symptom, and I didn't want people to think I was crazy. Last week I smelled funnel cakes, and yesterday I thought I heard kids playing and talking.

Yep, me too! I sometimes smell something burning before I get a Migraine and during a Migraine it sounds like a television is on in another room. I always end up checking anyway...just in case

I've only had olfactory aura a couple of times, that I know of, anyway. It's always been a burning smell for me, like hot wires. You'd think if we've got to have it that nature should let us pick our aura smells!

Well, It sure is good to know I am not crazy! LOL! I get the smells too, but I smell roses a lot and sometimes I think I smell a gas leak (and theres no gas here hehehe). Thanks everyone for putting my mind at ease over this-

I always think I hear or see or smell things that are not there.
The smells are usually like a gas leak or something burning, or cleaner. I always think I hear music or phones ringing or something that is not there. I see things that are not there for like a hot second. Mostly I think I see bugs but it's really just a black blob moving but my brain thinks creepy crawlies! I have a mysterious flute player who totally sucks at playing music lol when I get a really bad migraine... and I tend to be phonophobic... arg! trouble is I can't really get away from it because it's comming from my head...
Sometimes I get smell aswell... either a strong stench of bleach or perfume which feels like it's burning the back of my nose... sometimes not often I even get the smell of farts or poo or something like somebody let one rip if ya know what I mean...  As for seeing stuff... occassionally.. not as often now as it was a few years back I would see yellow psychedelic patterns... I call it my lava lamp.. cos that's what it looks like...hehe.. pretty trippy stuff... can't believe people pay loads of money to experience something like that...lol Well that was my ten cents to the thread  Smile... it makes people wonder what you're thinking about |

My auditory hallucinations are getting worse, I think. I'm now "hearing" people talking, sometimes talking to me. This is a fairly recent development for me, and quite annoying to DH. He insists he hasn't said anything to me, yet I "know" he has!
