Migraine

I never got my narrative written for Mayo. I keep starting and stopping... Do they just want type of things that are in migraine diary? The appt is specifically about a 2nd opinion on the proposed shunt for IIH. Do I present with written info on all migraine symptoms and etc or just those that seem to be related to the IIH? I don't know where to start. I don't know whether to go with a list of triggers or antagonists, symptoms, etc like in a diary and should it be about types of migraines I have been told I have? (I assume yes since I don't really know which are definitely pertinent)
A definition of narrative essay as I found on line was to write about your feelings on a subject. Is that what I would bring?
My head is whirling and I need to get this done soon..the appt is Turesday!
(I have been ill/hospitalized since the 13th and am way behind now!)

The only ones who could definitively say what they'd like your narrative to look like would be the people at Mayo who want to see it. Is there someone in that department you could call, such as their office staff?

I can tell you that whenever I've done any kind of narrative to take along to the doctor, I usually do so in an annotated list format. I'll list symptoms, and then off of each one, I'll jot notes and any questions I might have that are related to it.

Whatever format you decide to use, or that they dictate, I would suggest you take along an extra copy. You can ask that it be added to your file. My neuro doc that I had loved it when I did this, because he could see everything that was problematic to me from my perspective, since I was the expert at living in my collective pile o' goop. He'd read it over and ask for any clarifications or extra info he needed.
