My mirgraines are random. Sometimes every other day and sometimes I have a five day break in between. Last month I had eleven migraine days lasting for 62 hours as a total - no fun!

I am on Topamax as a preventative, Trexamet as an abortative and Fiorcet as a rescue plus vitamin therapy. There are days when nothing works! Then it is ice packs to the rescue!

You sound exactly like me--same meds and everything--however remember trexemet is just imitrex plus alleve . The makers of imitrex are facing the event of imitrex coming off patent soon in the US. It already is outside the country--you can by generic for up to 70 per cent off from canadian pharmacies. So by adding something to it they can say it is a different drug and get a new patent. Soon if you want to save big bucks just take the generic (sumatriptan) and a couple of alleve or better yet generic alleve (naproxin sodium. I save a huge amount even with insurence this way. As to frequencies check your diet-there are so many triggers. Chocolate, wine, bananas, citrus, processed meats, I did not have a migraine for over a month but then ate a fruit salad with bananas--####!!!!

Nina,

-:¦:-•:*'""*:•.-:¦:-•*Hello!*•-:¦:-•:*'''''*:•-:¦:-•*Welcome to the family!*•-:¦:-

Do you realize that ordering from pharmacies outside the US is illegal? I'm not defending it. It should be safe as long as it's a certified pharmacy that requires a prescription from your own doctor, but it is illegal.

Also, playing devil's advocate a bit here -- if many people start doing that, then the prices of new meds will be higher to make up for such situations where other countries decide not to honor US patents. Drug manufacturers aren't nonprofit companies. They're responsible to their shareholders, and they have to recover research and development costs not just for the drugs that make it to market, but also for those that don't.

Welcome again!

The generally long periods of time between my Migraines are the result of working with a Migraine specialist to refine my preventive regimen. You can see my current regimen HERE.
