I had my second visit with Dr. K in Texas. I live in Nevada. Starting to see some improvement. Fingers Crossed But Dr. K wants me to get iv magnesium if I get a status migraine. I am currently trying to set something up should the migraine come back in full force (keeping positive about the return of the migraine). Any suggestion as to where you can get this therapy.

Amy,

Do you have a local neurlogist or internist who would work with Dr. K to order it if it's needed? If their office isn't able to give it most hospitals have some type of outpatient treatment area that it could be administered in.

Cindy has the right idea.

It would be a good idea to have a local doctor to work with in conjunction with Dr. K. I've had IV mag at my neuro's office. Maybe you could start with your PCP for suggestions.

I'm a patient of Dr. K's and going through the same process right now.

I have an appointment with a new (to me) local neurologist because I don't really care to go back to any of the ones I have seen in the past, but I can't get in until the beginning of July.

I plan to just put my cards on the table about what I'd like him to do for me (arrange for me to receive infusions at the local hospital). Hopefully he'll be willing, but if not I'll move on to someone else and see if they will do it.

Amy,

I also see Dr. Krusz and he has used IV mag for me in his office and it worked great! Thumbs Up

I have a letter from Dr. K explaining that he treated me, how much mag was used etc. and when I need to go to the ER I bring the letter with me.

I haven't been able to find a local neuro who does IV therapy in their office yet but the ER was able to treat me with IV mag successfully.

Good luck!

Hey ya'll

If neuro's in your area don't/won't do IV therapy in their office, pain management folks usually do - and most of them are neuro's. At least mine is!
