I could really use a little reassurance until Monday. Many of you know we will see Dr. K on Monday but in the meantime Sarah is very tired all of the sudden and says she just can't remember things and just over all feels funny. I called Dr. K's office and Ann was so nice and recommended I call our family physician. I did and they will see her in the morning if she is still feeling bad. The need medication, Sansert is supposedly a form of LSD and it scares me that she is taking it but it warnes you not to get off of it without the doctor's help so I am just letting her stay on it until Monday. She also takes Seraquil, Nadalol, Efexor and DHE shots if needed. She hasn't had a shot in about a week though. She is trying to just tough it out.
If you have some advice or thoughts, I would love to hear them. I just can't call our doctor in Houston because I have really lost confidence in him. I am waiting to hear! Thanks everyone! lovemykids411 Melanie |

You're seeing your family doctor in the morning. If your daughter continues to feel worse tonight, just like any other problem you would go to the ER, make sure you have a complete list of her meds, how much she takes and when she has last taken them.
It could be from medications, her anxiety of seeing the new doctor. Keep her calm, keep her quiet. You're clearly listening to her and how she feels. Make sure she knows you are taking her very seriously. Keep writing to us tonight if you need to, we are around. Cindy |

Thank you! She doesn't seem to be as fuzzy headed but she is sweating like a woman going through menapause. I will definitely keep the ER in mind if necessary.
I will keep you posted. I am wandering around the community to see what else I can learn. lovemykids411 Melanie |

Hi Melanie,
So she takes sansert, seraquil, nadalol, effexor on a daily basis and DHE as needed? As Cindy said, if she continues to feel poorly, ER is the way to go. |

Thanks for your support.
The doctor is a new family physician and he was wonderful. He felt like that it could be a med but did some small changes until we see Dr. K on Monday. He was so thorough with Sarah and could not believe that we had never had an MRI or EEG. He ordered those to be done as soon as we return from Dallas if the doctor there does not do them first. He is anxious to work with Dr. K personally and this is a thrill to us. Sarah and I were both relieved. Even though she has improved some, her head is killing her right now and she is very emotional. Just keep praying. I hope she will take a DHE shot tonight to ease some of her pain. lovemykids411 Melanie |

Melanie,
So glad you went to the new doctor today and he sounds like a gem. How wonderful he is will to work with Dr. K. That type of coordination can make your life so much easier. But for today. Take an hour, a day at a time. The poor child to be in so much pain, it is so frustrating. For me the longer I am in pain, the more stressed and tense I get and I am sure it makes the pain worse. Anything that will help relax and calm her might help. You know what they are. I even sometimes find distiction of taking to someone helpful. Your right, hopefully she will use the DHE tonight for a break. Take care, you know where to find us. Cindy |

Melanie, thanks for letting us know how you're doing. If you haven't seen it already, you may want to take a look at our "What is in your toolbox" thread, which you can find HERE. There are a lot of great suggestions there for comfort measures that our members use for relief of migraine pain and various symptoms. Maybe these will give you some ideas to help your daughter.

Melanie,
It's great to see that your family doctor is so wonderful. Dr, K. will be glad he's willing to work with him. Who told you that Sansert is a form of LSD? The molecular structure is similar, but it's not a form of LSD. For that matter, where are you getting it? I thought it was discontinued in 2002. Anyway, I'm sure you'll be glad when Monday comes. Please keep us posted? ![]() Teri Robert Lead Expert, MyMigraineConnection terimmc@helpforheadaches.com

Thanks for that update. I am not scientific enough to have understand that I am sure.
It was compouned by a pharmacy in Houston. My GP says that even though it sounds bad when you read about to relax that it is not as hard on the body as it seems. lovemykids411 Melanie |

Ahhhhhhhhh. Thanks. With all due respect to your GP, in my opinion, if Sansert had been a good medication, it would still be on the market. Again, that's just my opinion. I'm sure Dr. Krusz can talk with you about it. One of the great things about him is that in addition to being an MD, he's also trained as a pharmacist with a PhD in neuropharmacology.
Sansert was the ONLY medication ever developed specifically for Migraine prevention. I've talked with some researchers, and they point out that you also can only take it for six months before having to take a "holiday" from it.
