Hello all! Any other pregnant ladies out there suffering right now? I've had migraines for almost 3 years now and up until 3 months ago I was on meds that kept things pretty well in-check. Then I got pregnant and had to go off my meds. The first trimester went great, almost no headaches. Now I'm just into the second tri and BAM! Almost daily pain. My doc gave me Tylenol 3's, yeah that'll work, lol. I wanted to go to the ER last night but they wouldn't have done anything more than what I'm doing already. This BITES!

Well not pregnant but I had 6 children. It's really not a lot they can do with baby on the way. What about other alternetive? I did anything that could relax me. I would lay on my back and put my feet on the wall.

When I was pregnant the second half was migraine free, which I think is fairly typical. Is this your first pregnancy? Hopefully your hormones will settle down soon and it will get better. I would definately talk to your OB about your migraines if you haven't already.
In the meantime your body is going through a lot and remember this wonderful little life living inside you will be such a blessing! Congratulations! lisa |

I've been trying to relax and lay down as much as possible but I have a full time job and a 4 year old. Hubby works midnites, he does what he can to help.
This is my second pregnancy and I also have other conditions that are probably making my headaches worse (blood pressure). My first pregnancy I developed pre-eclampsia and delivered at 34 weeks. I'm afraid things are progressing more rapidly this time with the BP. I've talked to my OB and they said I could take the Tylenol 3's but they don't do much, I have to take one of those PLUS an extra strength tylenol to feel a small bit of relief. |

LOL Mama!!
You are going to be fine. Just keep doing all you can. You got through the first baby, you'll both find a way to cope with the new baby. Hang in there. Dutchess p092008224226[1].JPG |

I'm sorry you're having a rough time. I'm sure with work and a small fry, your day is just packed.
I have zippo experience in the realm of pregnancy, so I really don't have any big advice for you, but I've got hugs, and I'm sending tons your way. Talking to your OB is the best thing to do, and you've done that. Comfort measures are probably your best "bag of tricks" right now, along with adequate rest and taking care of yourself as best you can. I know that's kind of frustrating, since that's what you've been doing. Perhaps you'll find some new ideas in the What's in Your Toolbox? thread that will help you feel a bit more hopeful that there's more you can do. Dragondrool Forum Moderator ~~8=:>>>> |

Thank you for the hugs! They're the best comfort measure for making someone feel better! I'll definitely check in my toolbox, thanks!

When I was pregnant with my daughter, the migraines were horrendous but improved a lot once I started getting accupuncture every week. Unfortunately now 6 years later the accupuncture doesn't help any near as much.

Massage (thanks to DH) and hot/cold packs were helpful managing the head pain during my pregnancies.
Journaling helped with stress. I wrote to the baby and shared the good and the bad events of the day. Most entries were brief (especially when I had other little ones to care for), but it was a good diversion for the TTHs. Congratulations and take care of yourself. Liz |
