Hi, In the last month I have have two episodes of my vision doing some really weird stuff. Both times it happened when I was sitting down really doing nothing. When I look out half of my vision looks like a rainbow type oil slick, and it is swirling. It does not dissapear when I try to wipe my eyes, or close one eye and then the other. It lasts for about one half hour, then goes away. I have never had a aura with my migraines, and a migraine did not develop after either of these vision episodes. One of these episodes happened at my daughter doctors office. He came in to talk tome about my daughter, and it took everything in my power to look him staright in his face when he was talking, even when half my vision was floating around in a rainbow type film. It was very strange. Anyone else have this happen without a headache?

Hi Julie,
Welcome to MyMigraineConnection, There is a type of Migraine, acephalgic migraine that can occur without the headache phase of the attack. We aren't medical professionals so cannot diagnose you. The best thing would be to talk to your doctor. The link below has some information for you:Acephalgic or Silent Migraine - The Basics Have you had your eyes examined lately? You may want to start there. Please keep us posted on how you are doing. Oh, I moved your post about abaltion to the Question and Answer folder, so if you don't see it you know where it went! You could also send this to our Ask the Clincian feature you can find HERE My GYN has recommended ablation for me when I'm ready, but says it won't take care of hormone issues. It currently is not recommended for Migraine relief, your doctor is right on. |

I'll add my welcome. You'll love it here!
It's suggested that any new symptom should be reported to your doctor. Be sure to keep him/her up to date. Gretchen in Mississippi |
