We went to Boston last week. DH is on the board of a company that does software for nursing homes. The trip was for a trade show, a board meeting, and general quality time for all the directors. They're the nicest group of people I've ever met and great fun to travel with.
Traditionally, I've lost at least one day of a trip to migraine. Writhing in the bed sort of stuff. If it wasn't bad migraine, it was exhaustion and needing to take a nap. As I said, this has been going on for 20 years. I felt great the entire time. I had two back-to-back days completely pain-free. It's been YEARS since that has happened. No migraine, and the TTH responded well to meds. No bad pain while flying. I took Frova before the trip up, but just realized that I forgot to take it for the flights back. I got my morning coffee and had an afternoon Diet Coke if my head was bothering me. I'm not sure whether the caffeine helps the headache or whether the headache is caffeine withdrawal. Whatever. Boston is a great place to visit. One of the directors is a frustrated travel agent, and she had great stuff arranged. We saw Plymouth Rock [no big deal], and the reproduction of the Mayflower. We went to Concord and saw where "the embattled farmer stood and fired the shot heard 'round the world." We went to Walden Pond. We saw Paul Revere's house and the Old North Church and had lunch at the oyster house where Ben Franklin ate. I ate a lot of clam chowder and gained about 4 pounds. I put it on quickly, so I'm hoping it'll come off quickly, too. The best was a whale-watching trip. The boat was big enough that it didn't rock too badly. We saw four humpbacked whales, a fin whale, and a pod of dolphins. We were lucky enough to have a marine zoologist who worked with whales as the speaker/narrator. Whales have unique marks on their tails like fingerprints, and she knew the whales by name! And I bought shoes. I've been looking for a pair of black dress shoes off and on for two years, and I found some! Plus two pairs of everyday shoes! A completely pain-free day is incredibly rare for me, and to have two back-to-back was amazing. Here's hoping it happens again soon! Gretchen |

Yeah Gretchen! I'm so glad you had a good trip. My daughter would just die for the chance to see a pod of dolphins.
