I was able to go food shopping last night, come home, cook and hang out with the DH & kids.

Today, call me busy woman! I mailed packages, arranged for final Christmas gifts to be delivered, went to the bank, got my daughter signed up for gymnastics (ssshhh, it is for Christmas) and even visited my friend!

Then, to top it off, when DH came home from work (early) we did our final "big" gift run and then I came home and cooked again!

To some it may not be much, but to me, it is baby steps like these that make my down days a bit more tolerable.

Funny what we appreciate when we don't have the luxary of just being able to run an errand on a whim huh?

And, the icing on my day...I am actually tired and am ready to head off to bed soon.

I think your baby steps sound great! You were certainly more productive than I have been all week!

Hooray! I can't remember, did you bake a cake in all of that activity? If not, I'll provide one:

Birthday Cake

Thanks everyone.

Nut, that is the one thing I forgot, the cake, Thanx

I am going to continue with staying positive and head out for stocking stuffers and come home and wrap the gifts.

Thanks again everyone!

Teri-If I don't see you before your trip, have a wonderful, relaxing time with your family!! You deserve it.

Merry Christmas!!

I'm so happy for you that you were able to take all of those baby steps Yes

I agree- it's amazing how we don't appreciate doing all these things until they're no longer easy to do all in one day. Then, one by one, the baby step mentality is a great analogy...and when the baby steps add up and get us somewhere- it's like you want to shout it from the rooftops- or at least that's how I feel.

Congrats!

Thanks again everyone!

LauraSue-I can't even imagine having migraines accompanied with FM...my heart goes out to you.

I had a great run but then it came to an abrupt halt the next day. But, then I was up again the day after and pretty much kept a pattern of every other day or so.

Then, the day before Christmas Eve I got hit again, still had the beast on Christmas Eve but recovered in time for Christmas morning and only missed a dinnner party but not Christmas.

I even made a full blown dinner for the family, danced on the Twister mat, cleaned the kitchen...the list grew until I fell asleep in my daughters bed last night Thumbs Up

Laura!!!

May I add my success steps?

After a nice nap (after opening gifts), I got up & washed my hands, thawed a nice little pork tenderloin, spiced and seared it, then slow-roasted it.

While that was roasting, I washed my hands, cooked green beans and potatoes (fat-free, Southern-style), steamed rice, washed the sterling flatware, and...

...directed assembly of a table to hold all 6 of us, plus the setting of it, while...

...Kat made mashed potatoes and found assorted wines and champagne and washed wine goblets...

...and I "shot" the newly diabetic cat, and washed my hands, made gravy from scratch, including the roux,...

...and we "took up" the food and served our first Christmas Supper in this house.

Rebecca

ps Then, all the critters had to be fed! Lionel (diabetic cat) is on a high-protein diet, so he gets albacore tuna. The rest get dry cat or dog chow.
