I just returned from a ten-day cruise. Did I have migraines? Yes! Every day but one. Did I have a good time? Yes! I am so fortunate that my abortive and rescue meds are as effective as they are.
Whenever I went on shore, I carried my Axert with me. I did not take my Fiorinal with me, for fear of trouble with local authorities. In fact, it stayed in the safe in my cabin. The week of April 6-12, I maxed out on Axert, the first time that had happened in a very long time. But my meds worked well enough that I was able to enjoy all of my shore excursions.
The only real humdinger occurred on Sunday, April 13. I had to throw everything at that migraine--including bedrest--and it still wasn't controlled until, after 6 hours, I could take another dose of Fiorinal. But then it finally came under control. The heat and sun on shore got to me, and after I took my Axert, it simply kept getting worse. I was so glad to get back to the ship that day!
Anyway, I had a great time, and I'm home with renewed energy and plenty of pictures of wildlife.
That's terrific Nut! I sure wish your trip would've been completely migraine free...But it's GREAT that you were able to enjoy your vacation--even with the migraines hanging around.
Where did you go, if you don't mind me asking??

I'm so glad you had a great trip- and didn't let your migraines keep you from enjoying it. Traveling is always a great joy in life! Hope you continue to feel better.
Hi Nut - That's great news - and inspiring too! Sounds like a great trip. Hope you have an easy time getting your land-legs back! I've always swayed for a few days after getting ashore - I figured it's another vertigo type thing. - Megs
