My doctor said I could try some Amerge preventively, during the week of my period, to try to stave off some of the hormonally-triggered migraines. This morning, I took my first preventive Amerge--and no migraine. Whether it's coincidence or not, I'll take it!

Hopefully it's *not* a coincidence, and it is indeed the Amerge doing its job. Thumbs Up Fingers Crossed

This morning I woke up at 3 A.M., and as I tried to go back to sleep, I realized I had the beginnings of a migraine. So I got up and took my Amerge. Then I went back to bed. In a couple of hours, I realized the migraine was building on me, and fast. Since I couldn't take any more Amerge until at least 8 A.M.--24 hours after yesterday's preventive dose--it was time for rescue meds. I got up and took Fiorinal.

In less than an hour I was pain-free. Best of all, it stayed that way all day. And I actually felt GOOD nearly all day, too, not sedated or "drugged."

I'm hoping to head any migraines off at the pass tomorrow morning with a preventive Amerge. If I hadn't awakened when I did, I probably would have awakened about 6 A.M. with a major humdinger. Shudder.

This is really good news- my doctor prescribed this(Amerge) for me at my last appt. to try during my menstrual cycle since I seem to get the worst migraines after my cycle is over. I hope it works for me as well as it works for you!
So glad you're feeling better Yes
